RO = water security for Ebeye
The water supply for the Ebeye community will be more secure in the future thanks to a new reverse osmosis water plant that will be built by early 2017.
KAJUR has recently awarded Osmoflo Water Management the contract to supply and maintain a 430,000 Gallons per day salt water reverse osmosis (RO) plant.
KAJUR’s general manager, Mr. Romeo Alfred said that this project will cost approximately $4.65 million, and Osmoflo will supply the RO plant and maintain the plant for two years after commissioning. They will also provide KAJUR staff with training for sustainable operations in the future.
“This project is our first project under the $19.02 million water and sanitation redevelopment program for Ebeye,” said Mr. Alfred.
“The redevelopment program is funded by ADB, the Australian government and RMI government via Compact funds provided by the USA government.”
Mr. Alfred said that the KAJUR team is looking forward to working on the redevelopment program as it will help improve all aspects of water supply and delivery to their customers in Ebeye.
